Elodie, Nicolas and their team welcome you to an exceptional stone farmhouse, immersed in the heart of nature near the Gorges de l’Ardèche nature reserve.
Discover a fascinating profession, from raising bees to harvesting the precious nectar!
Enjoy a guided tour of the Honey Factory, accompanied by a guided tasting session, which will give you an insight into our local produce.
Contemplate the intimate life of bees in the Living Hives Gallery, where the hives are entirely glazed.
Enter the daily life of the farm, with the 4 films made on the farm, discovering the diversity of the Ardèche landscapes, behind the scenes of the farm and the complexity of bee and queen rearing.
The final film takes you on a journey with exceptional cliffside images of honey gatherers in Nepal (shot by photographer Eric Tourneret).
Breathtaking photos! ‘Le Génie des Abeilles’ is an exhibition of impressive photos on display at the heart of the farm, showing the life of bees and the latest scientific knowledge of how colonies function (by photographer Eric Tourneret).
Experience a Baptism of Beekeeping! A special moment of total immersion! (By prior arrangement only, for children aged 7 and over) Put on a wetsuit and let yourself be guided into a shady apiary. Young and old alike will be charmed by the courage and beauty of the spectacle of thousands of bees.
Various fun activities are organised around a glass hive and the discovery of precious beeswax.
The shop sells all the farm’s Ardèche honey and honey-based products: nougats, shortbread, soaps and sweets, all made with honey from the farm and processed by the best local artisans.
There’s also a bookshop for young and old, as well as beeswax candles and gift sets.
For the convenience of visitors, locally-produced cold drinks and ice creams from the Ardèche are available, as well as delicious picnic baskets containing quality produce from our Ardèche producers, to be enjoyed on the spot.
Tables are available in the shade of the pine trees for a relaxing lunch.
Elodie, Nicolas and their team are passionate about the world of bees and want to share this passion with visitors through the Ferme des Abeilles, a place entirely dedicated to bees and beekeeping. The ‘Les Ruchers de l’Ibie’ farm has 450 colonies of bees producing honey in various locations in the Ardèche.
Here’s a unique behind-the-scenes look at the bee farm!
